About Chris Reid

Chris Reid, President and CEO of Independence Bank of Kentucky began his banking career over 30 years ago.  Chris began working for his father and uncle in 1971 at Farmers and Merchants Bank of McLean County and Providence State Bank of Webster County.  In 1997, the two banks were incorporated under one name – Independence Bank.  Chris graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison Wisconsin, in 1984.  Chris has literally worked in every area of the bank, and in 2001, Reid took on his father’s role as bank President.  Independence Bank has remained a family owned community bank that has become one of the fastest growing banks in Western Kentucky.  Recently the bank received national recognition as being ranked 11th in the Nation according to American Bankers Magazine in June of 2009.

Independence Bank is a regional community bank with 19 locations in 7 counties in Western Kentucky – Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, McCracken, Warren and Webster – and assets of over $900 million.
